The National Society for American Indian Elderly (NSAIE) was established in 1987 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization to improve the quality of life for on-reservation and rural American Indian and Alaska Native elders by supporting a network of tribally established and administered services.

We are an organization that is working to improve conditions for elders and believe strongly in our mission. We provide training and experience for people working with our organization.

The AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Supervisor is responsible for VISTA member recruitment, retention, training and oversight.

The VISTA Supervisor will also participate in resource development for placement sites and will help members complete project assignments as part of their service. The Supervisor will collect program information monthly and help produce quarterly reports. The NSAIE VISTA Supervisor will have the opportunity to write grants and develop innovative strategies to meet program goals.

The NSAIE is a national project and members serve with Tribal programs in remote locations throughout the United States. Extensive use of e-mail and other electronic technologies is required. The use of all standard office technologies is required and experience desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Strong experience working with Tribes and Tribal organizations.
-Strong computer and office technology experience.
-Good communication skills and organizational skills expected.
-Work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher with relevant experience. Education and/or work experience may be combined.
-Travel to five Pre-Service Orientations, in Albuquerque, NM will be required. Other travel and site visits.
-Other job duties may be assigned as required to meet project goals.

Salary commiserate to experience (starting salary in the range of $38,000)
